A little more sickness and new ventures
Well, the cold that appeared to be clearing up ended up developing into a chest infection. A visit to the Doctors on Wednesday after several bouts of uncontrollable coughing confirmed my suspicions and I was promptly prescribed a course of antibiotics and signed off for the rest of the week for some rest. Today (Friday) my chest feels a little better (mayber the poisons are doing their thing) and everything seems to have loosened and feels a lot better for the most part. Krysti seems to be going through it now though...will it ever end?
Having completed my 2nd round of Photoshop training last week and listening and watching a bunch of web and design related podcasts/video podcasts, I'm inspired to try and get set up doing some web design work 'on the side' and have registered a couple of domain names to hopefully get a part time business set up. This will be about the 3rd or 4th time I've had this inspiration, but I really want to try and get something done this time. To that end, if anyone knows of anyone needing a site - let me know. I'll need to get a few sites put together for a portfolio and of course some testimonials to get off the ground. I'm hoping to do some stuff for small businesses, individuals, charity groups, etc small stuff for reduced rates at first. I'll post details of the site I'm setting up as and when its completed, in the meantime anybody knowing someone who needs some web work done can contact me on johnconn@gmail.com
As a reminder, those not using Firefox as their web browser really should be. It's a MUCH more reliable and secure alternative to Internet Explorer, which is (one of) Windows' weakest links and a big security vulnerability - especially for spyware and adware - things that Firefox doesn't suffer from. Click the light blue Firefox link on the right hand side to download it. Those of you not using the latest version, can also get the latest version from the same link and update an existing installation by the same method. Following the blue link and downloaded the versions from here help support the site. Don't forget to use the Amazon links here too to get your "book fix", buying stuff through these links will have the same effect.
