krystiandjohn.com and other stuff

This blog site may well end up replacing krystiandjohn.com as it currently stands. Visitor numbers are waning, mostly due to the fact that we haven't been posting many stories and I think most people looked up the site for the gallery... The advantage of using krystiandjohn.com, when we hosted it at home, was the essentially unlimited storage space for pics in the gallery. I moved it to a hosting provider while we didn't have broadband access at home and to hopefully improve performance for visitors. It was also a nuisance having a bunch of people viewing and uploading images and chewing up all the bandwidth when trying to do stuff. Problem is now we have very limited space on the hosted site for the pics and so we have removed the gallery but there are better options out there for that. www.blogspot.com offers hosting for images which I'll look in to as well as other dedicated image hosting sites like www.flickr.com and more.

So, now all my flights are booked including the internal US flights. 7-12 Oct in SLC, 13-21 Oct in DC. It proved pretty difficult tracking down cheap flights that we could book online since most Australian travel sites don't allow booking of flights in the US and most US based sites don't allow payments from credit cards with non-US billing addresses. Anyway, we finally tracked down Zuji which has an Australian site, has access to most of the cheap US sector fares AND will allow payment with an Aussie credit card. So it's all sorted now. Counting down the days...

MJ had some photos taken at the child care centre he goes to. I'll try and post one of his first "school photos" when I get around to scanning them in.
