Mj's first wee in toilet

Tonight when I was undressing MJ for a shower he said 'wee wee toilet' pointing at the toilet, so I took off his nappy and sat him up on the toilet. He then preceded to do a wee. What a clever boy.

I haven't even bothered tried to start toilet training him yet. I have my fingers crossed that when I do start to toilet train him, he will pick it up pretty quickly and easily.

New MTB, Hi-5 "Space Magic", Landscaping, AC, T-13 days and counting.

Time moves on and we are only 13 days away from Krysti's due date...we had another midwife appointment on Monday (38 wks) and the next appointment has been set for her due date. Hopefully we won't be needing that one...

Over the weekend I bought a new mountain bike to replace my old one which I haven't ridden in some time. I had intended on getting the old one up and running only to find a few weeks back that it needs a couple of hundred dollars of repairs to get it operational again. Seems a big waste to spend money on new parts and repairs for what will still be quite an old bike when decent new bikes are relatively inexpensive. Anyway, on the weekend we bought a new bike instead, as well as a trailer to drag MJ and baby #2 around in. MJ seems to enjoy going in the buggy but I'm not sure whether I enjoyed dragging it yet. It's not too bad, although you really feel it on the hills. I'm just a bit out of shape... It will be a good opportunity to get a bit of exercise as well as something that MJ and I can do together. Not to mention a way of getting out of Krysti's hair every once in a while.

Today (Tuesday) MJ and I went to AIS Arena to see Hi-5 in concert. MJ behaved himself well and enjoiyed the show, but the loud music made him jump once or twice and he was a bit uncertain at first. The show was basically a remix of all of the Hi-5 DVDs we have endured over the last 12-18 months. It was a good show and I bought MJ a new T-shirt, although a couldn't quite bring myself to paying 10 bucks for a balloon. Some photos will go up on Flickr - none of which are very good - you can imagine trying to take some snaps in relative darkness with a wriggling, dancing MJ under one arm

We had a bobcat out last week to clear the block of weeds and junk as well as getting rid of some of the top 'soil' to make way for some better stuff. We bought a bunch of charcoal concrete pavers from Amber Tiles on Saturday which we hope to collect in the next couple of days. The chap who did the bobcat work also does landscaping and seems to have pretty reasonable rates so we are likely gonna get him to lay the paver edging. We need to act fairly quickly, while the block is weed free. If we leave it too long, then we are gonna have to clear the weeds again....

The air con we ordered a couple of weeks back should be installed in the next week and a half or so. The few warm/hot days we have had over the last few weeks have been a firm indication of what's to come so the AC will be a good investment I'm sure providing some relief at least in part of the house...
